Biocomplexity V:
Multiscale Modeling in Biology
Date: August 14-17, 2003
Location: University of Notre Dame
Links: Workshop Website | Notre Dame ICSB
Goal of the Workshop:
Complex biological modeling efforts include multi-scale simulations allowing different abstractions at each scale, scalable parallelism for heterogeneous dynamical simulations, a data-rich environment with experimentally determined model parameters and, finally, distributed multi disciplinary research teams and resources. The goal of this workshop is to bring together researches in biological experiment and modeling with biology, physics, mathematics, engineering, computer science and medical school backgrounds and applied mathematitians working on multiscale modeling with applications to different fields in order to discuss challenges in this field.
