In tumor growth, as in many other biological problems, we face a serious problem, namely, the interaction between processes occurring in very different time and length scales, from bio-molecular processes inside the cell to bio-mechanical phenomena at the level of the whole tissue. Our aim is to develop a computational and mathematical framework which enables us to deal with such systems.
