The research interests of the Newman laboratory center around three program areas: cellular and molecular mechanisms of vertebrate limb development, physical mechanisms of morphogenesis, and mechanisms of morphological evolution. Other biomedically-related activities involve writings on the social and cultural implications of biological research and technology.
