It is clear that Erik needs to write up the VOG stuff which he has now begun. Corrie I'll assign to focus on assessment of human factors stuff and whatever else she wants to do (I discussed that with Dave after I met with you and he agreed). I'll need you, as we discussed, for the big picture stuff on distributed computing, KN etc., along the lines of what you wrote for the letter of intent. Accordingly, could you please read asap the resource info at NSF on KN (a significant but not huge amount), and skim the LIS stuff. I suggest you download and/or print the various HTML pages. The more we can fit in with NSF's view of KN, the better our chances. I have read most of it. It is far more in your language and experience than mine. For the writing, this is where I'll need you the most -- to show that our disabilities work using with NeatTools coupled to Tango, BuenaVista, etc. fits in well with KDI/KN/(LIS). We'll need to develop scenarios, 'experiments', assessment, etc. including accessible design. I can recycle some of our 1997 proposal. We'll also need to expand the scope significantly beyond Eyal and make it more research oriented, as in Erik's task list and statistics plan.  FYI, this morning I am going to Nottingham H.S. for a session with Eyal, Stacey et al. that I hope I'll be able to actually mention in the proposal as pilot study work. I'll also go with Mike, Rahul and (probably) Dave to Shermans this evening for a regular session. I have also studied the FastLane stuff from NSF and am supposed to get a PI PIN number from OSP today. Lorrie Anthony who is the expert on this is out this week; I'll get her help next week as needed, since I am a neophyte with FastLane. Ed
