C: Paper and Referee Metadata Paper Number Cnnn: C522 Date: Sept. 02, 2001 Paper Title: WebSimMicro: Web-based Simulation of Microelectronic Devices Author(s): T. Rang, C. Wie Referee: Rajkumar Buyya Address: Monash Uni, CSSE School, Caulfield, Melbourne, Australia Referee Recommendations. Please indicate overall recommendations here, and details in following sections. * accepted provided changes suggested are made D: Referee Comments (For Editor Only) E: Referee Comments (For Author and Editor): The paper discusses application of a framework Web enabling legacy applications. It gives good story of how system is being implemented. The authors should consider including "Experience" Section that discusses simulation work using non-web and web system. Discuss limitations and advantages of both approaches. No just once you make webenabled you can access it from everywhere. Think in terms ease with one can use the application and quickly do their work. Also discuss about complexity of development. Since such systems need to be on Webserver, what about performance if too many users want to use it. Any thought on running application on clusters and provide application level salability measures. F: Presentation Changes As suggested above: particularly experience, scalability, and performance issues. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Geoffrey Fox wrote: > > Tony Hey suggested that you might be willing to referee the > following paper. > Thank you > Geoffrey Fox > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > I am editor for a practical computer/computational science journal > Concurrency and Computation:Practice and Experience. > > I thought you might be able to provide me a referee report by September 30 2001 on the paper > C522: WebSimMicro: Web-based Simulation of Microelectronic Devices > which you can find at http://aspen.csit.fsu.edu/CCPEwebresource/C522wie2/wie_2.pdf > > Abstract: > We have developed a web-based Java front-end for microelectronic > device simulation applications.
