Dear Professor Fox,

Thank you for the referee's report on my paper (C397).  I have revised
the paper as requested.  Specifically, I have:

  * added further discussion of practical experience using the
  transformation tools.  The new material discusses use of the tools
  on some typical concurrent programming applications encountered by
  students, as suggested by the referee.  Due to these changes, I have
  exchanged Section 5.2 with Section 5.3.  This ordering makes more
  sense given the new emphasis on the material in Section 5.2.

  * reformatted the paper to place all figures at the end of the text.

The next message I send you will contain a postscript version of the
revised paper.  (If you can't easily print it, please let me know and
I can send you hardcopy.)

I hope you find the revised paper acceptable.  Thank you for your
