I am familiar with some of Professor Noor's impressive work

Yes I have and still do research in  this area. Actually I used to be at Syracuse
and perhaps some of your collaborators there used to work with me.

of some of my work where I use a mix of academic and commercial systems.
Now I research:
a) Basic XML/Web Service frameworks for collaboration including integration
    of synchronous and asynchronous modes. The web service work is with
     Dennis Gannon who you originally contacted -- however I do most
      the applications to collaboration.
b) Inclusion of hand-held devices in collaborative sessions
c) Integration of audio/video conferencing devices using Web Services
d) Use of SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) in authoring

Some of my work can and has been used -- others are still research prototypes

I am in Europe this week. Next week I am back in USA although I am in
Washington DC for a NASA (Goddard) Earth Science meeting from
Monday evening through Thursday
