The Southern California Earthquake Center (SCEC) actively coordinates research on Los Angeles region earthquake hazards at seven Core Institutions. Founded in 1991, SCEC was a National Science Foundation (NSF) Science and Technology Center with administrative offices located at the University of Southern California (USC). SCEC is co-funded by the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
 

International Partners of GEM

The National GEM project is collaborating with the International APEC Cooperation for Earthquake Simulation (ACES).
ACES is a multi-lateral collaborative science research project of APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation). The project is sponsored by Australia, China, Japan and USA and involves leading international earthquake simulation and prediction research groups
