Pointers to the National HPCC Software Exchange
Pointers to the
The NHSE is an interdisciplinary effort to facilitate the development
and distribution of software enabling technologies for
high-performance computing and communications (HPCC),
and is a major technology transfer program of the
Center for Research on Parallel Computation.
As well as starting from the
NHSE home page,
you can take some shortcuts from the following list of material developed
for the NHSE by the
Northeast Parallel Architectures Center
at Syracuse University.
Domain-Specific Repositories
The NHSE aims to provide a set of repositories of
software and information targeted at particular fields.
NPAC is developing
domain-specific repositories
in the following areas:
We are also acting as beta-testers for the
Repository in a Box
software and information, being developed by the NHSE for use by software
repository maintainers.
Roadmaps and Guides
One of NPAC's main tasks for the NHSE is to provide guidance to users trying
to find information and software that will enable them to use high-performance
computers for their particular applications. This information is presented in
Currently the main sections of the roadmap that have been developed are for
the following areas:
- Cluster Computing
- High Performance Fortran
- Optimization
- Random Number Generators
Other information provided in the roadmap includes:
Software Reviews
As well as providing reviews of individual software packages, the NHSE
provides review articles on available HPCC software and technologies for
specific application areas in the
NHSE Review,
an electronic journal on the Web.
NPAC has contributed the following review articles:
