Center For Research on Parallel Computation
The Center for Research on Parallel Computation (CRPC), one of the 25
National Science Foundation Science and Technology Centers, aims to
make massively parallel computer systems truly usable for scientists,
engineers and others. CRPC research focuses on developing algorithms
for programming that can be used on various parallel
machines. Research also will provide compiler, editing, and debugging
tools to make parallel machines easier to program. CRPC helps train a
new generation of scientists and engineers in scientific problem
solving and parallel computation. Special emphasis is placed on
educating women and minorities. CRPC's outreach program shares
developments in parallel computation with others, encouraging
technology transfer. CRPC is a consortium that includes Argonne
National Laboratory, the California Institute of Technology, Los
Alamos National Laboratory, Rice University, Syracuse University, the
University of Tennessee, and the University of Texas at Austin.
