Its improving. Keep at it and we'll get there. I suggest we narrow the focus and iterate faster. Getting some of the basics done quickly will help us cover the later sections more easily. So now, let's work on getting Section 3 into good shape. Heed these comments, work quickly to produce a new version, changing only sections 3, and send me the new version. Once we get 3 right, we'll go to 4. 3.2.1 : You need to expand on "string parameterization and state management". Tell me something about the variables that can be substituted (I think what you really want to say is that WMLScript variables can be referenced directly in WML, right?) I really think you need a simple table or list of the elements of WML. Showing DTD fragments is probably overkill. I think descriptions can be shorter. Assume reader knows HTML, so is like HTML , etc. You show as an example deck only a skeleton (nothing lower than level. Put in a line or two of contents in each card to show off other features of WML. 3.2.2: Once again, I think you need to list the basic statememnts/operators in a table or something. Talk about variables. I should come away frmo this section with some idea of the level of sophistication of the language, so that if I wanted to program something, I could tell roughly if it were possible in WMLScript. 3.2.3 is unchanged, but needs expansion. 3.3: This is more of what I had in mind. Most important to us (I think) are WSP, WTLS. Possibly WTP if you wanted to program something quite sophisticated. 3.3.3 Isn't TLS the _evolution_ of SSL rather than just a renaming? I thought there were some differences. Maybe I'm mistaken. SSL-like capabilities are important. You should say something about how these are controlled -- can an application developer choose to use security features or not? How is it controlled? 3.4: I now wonder if this info can be folded in to 3.3? Authentication into the earlier WSP section and this WTSL into 3.3.3? Incidentally, it would be useful to know _how_ secure WTLS is. Standard SSL is 40-bit I think, but that's widely viewed as quite week. DoD and other security-conscious sites tend to prefer 128-bit SSL. Does WTLS specify level of encryption? -- David E.
