This web clipping is fast and simple way to retrieve specific information from Internet via mobile phone, PDAs, and hand-held PC. It is a process of query-and-response. It is that user request is submitted for the specific information from Internet and response will deliver Information. Web Clipping server will searches informations over the Internet and download them. Server will perform some pre-processing on them. This process will includes shrinking images too large for the hand-held device's screen, discarding pieces that can not be used in client, which is in user device such as Java .class file, and compressing the rest of the HTML.  

PalmVII uses query application works as a client application on user device. Query application should be installed on device to query specific information. Each application is designed for specific site you want to get information from. When user taps 'query application' on the device screen, query will be sent to Palm.net server over radio frequency. Server will response to request by transmit information, which is gathering from specific sites, such as whether condition, driving direction, news, e-commerse. Palm.net is also equipped with encryption technologies (Elliptic Curve Cryptography) from Certicom.[CERTI]

AvantGo.com provides free web clipping service to Palm user. Once user sign-up to AvantGo server, The account information, such as username, password, and what sites want to get information from, is stored to server. To view the specific sites (AvantGo call this as 'channel'), AvantGo client, which is mini browser, should be installed in user device. Linkage program, 'Mobile link' which is also installed on device, will connect to AvantGo server next HotSync. After downloading sites from Internet, AvatGo server will do optimizing pages before transmitting to desktop, which sync with device. Desktop will upload all information to device.[AVANTGO]
