    Two years hands-on experience in Computer Aided Design and structural analysis.
    Five years working experience in civil engineering.
    Graduate degree in civil and environmental engineering, with projects in CAD and structural design.

SKILLS
    Structural analysis using classical, finite element and dynamic methods.
    CAD experience with FORTRAN and C programming, and various computer packages 
      including AutoCAD, ANSYS and Image-3D.
    Engineering design of reinforced concrete, masonry and steel structures. Familiarity with LRFD

    Engineering drawing and detailing drafting in AutoCAD, I-DEAS, MathCAD.

EMPLOYMENT AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Structural Engineer: Sichuan Institute of Defense and Architecture, Chengdu, China, 1988 - 1991.

    Structural design of a multi-story office building. As a principal structural designer, duties included design of reinforced concrete frame, floor members, and foundation, as well as engineering drawing and detailing drawing.
    Structural design  of an underground air defense / entertainment complex. Designed and detailed the entire structure, including concrete arch, entrance/exit, excavation support and water-proofing facilities.
    Engineering research of underground structural water-proof. Responsibilities were collecting regional hydrology information and designing concrete with water-proof materials, conducting experimental and field tests to gather mechanical properties of the materials, and preparing technical reports.

Architectural Designer: Sichuan Institute of Defense and Architecture, Chengdu, China, 1985 - 1986. 

   Architectural design of a complex of multi-story office, dormitory, dining hall, bath house. 
      Involved in overall activities in planning, re-planning, designing external and internal details, 
      preparing construction documents, and coordinating engineering efforts.

Construction Inspector: Sichuan Provincial Commission of Construction, Chengdu, China, 1984 - 1985.
    Responsibility included examining block planning and house construction in rural area. Investigated exsiting constructions in major counties of Sichuan province, collected consumer's opinions, and wrote technical reports.
