I think over the weekend we've settled some of the thornier problems regarding hosting of the lab sites. Let me see if this matches everyone's understanding: Main web site: pervasivetechnologylabs.iu.edu pervasivetechlabs.iu.edu These will be hosted on IU's main web server through virtual host names and maintained by UITS. Virtual host names on the main server automatically have an alias with "www" prepended. Lab web sites: anml.iu.edu communitygrid.iu.edu osl.iu.edu The lab sites may be hosted either on IU's main server through virtual host names, or on servers maintained by the labs themselves. If it is to be hosted on a lab server, then the individual labs need to take steps to register the server name. To get a name assigned to your server, contact the UITS Messaging Team at dns-admin@indiana.edu. None of the names above are currently registered in our DNS, so there shouldn't be any problem getting them. There may, however, be an extra layer of approval to go through because we are using the "iu.edu" domain, so start this process soon. If you intend to use a virtual host name on the main IU server, I need to know that immediately to get the application process started. So, in a nutshell, these are the questions that I, Karen, and others need confirmation on, and fairly quickly: * Are the above host names for the main site and lab sites correct? * For the lab directors: will you host your lab site on your own server or on IU's server? * If on your own server, will the server be up this week? If not, we will have to temporarily host it on the main IU server through a virtual host name. Thanks for your patience. I think over the weekend we've settled = some of the thornier problems regarding hosting of the lab sites. Let = me see if this matches everyone's understanding:

Main web site:

    pervasivetechnologylabs.iu.edu
    pervasivetechlabs.iu.edu

These will be hosted on IU's main web = server through virtual host names and maintained by UITS. Virtual host = names on the main server automatically have an alias with = "www" prepended.

Lab web sites:

    anml.iu.edu
    communitygrid.iu.edu

The lab sites may be hosted either on = IU's main server through virtual host names, or on servers maintained = by the labs themselves.
