Subject: C413 Resent-Date: Wed, 24 Nov 1999 14:39:53 -0500 Resent-From: Geoffrey Fox Resent-To: p_gcf@npac.syr.edu Date: Mon, 15 Nov 1999 16:04:35 +0100 From: Michael Philippsen To: Geoffrey Fox CC: phlipp@ira.uka.de Geoffrey: I worked on the reviewer's comments and improved the presentation. I added the uuencoded tgz file to this email. It includes the tex document and the postscript figures. ** Please send an ack. ** We did some benchmarks and improved the last section of the paper. We now comment on memory and CPU usage. All reviewers suggested to do so. In the previous versions it appeared that we would claim our technique to be universally applicable. We reduced the volume here: we now make it very obvious that our technique improves performance in certain situations (and do not suggest that it will work in other situations as well). This will probably help reviewer 3. Reviewer 2 had some misunderstanding with respect to migration: the technique described in our paper does not use any migration at all. We clarified the paper so that this kind of misunderstanding hopefully can be avoided in future. We fixed all the minor problems mentioned in the reviews.
