Subject: Submission to Concurrency: Practice and Experience Resent-Date: Fri, 06 Aug 1999 22:21:03 -0400 Resent-From: Geoffrey Fox Resent-To: p_gcf@npac.syr.edu Date: Thu, 5 Aug 99 9:10:00 MET DST From: Henri Bal To: gcf@npac.syr.edu Dear prof. Fox, I hereby would like to submit the paper "Wide-Area Parallel Programming using the Remote Method Invocation Model" to the JavaGrande'99 special issue of Concurrency: Practice and Experience. Our paper is based on the paper I presented at JavaGrande'99, but we have extended it in various ways: - We did several further optimizations on the applications, redid the measurements on a larger (4x16 nodes) wide-area system, and analyzed the performance in more detail. - We added a new section (Section 4) discussing alternative programming models - We cover more related work. In my next message, I will send you a Unix shar-file with the full Latex sources, including the figures, bibliography, and make-script. I will also send you a Postscript version of the paper. I hope you may find the paper a useful contribution to the special issue. Could you please acknowledge receiving this submission? Henri -------------------------- prof.
