Geoffrey:

This is the first paper I would like to submit for the Java Grande
special issue. The paper is entiteled "Locality optimization in
JavaParty by means of static type analysis"

The paper has appeared in two (reviewed) workshops before:

1)      Workshop on Java for High Performance Network
        Computing at EuroPar'98, Southampton, September 2-3, 1998.

And an earlier version:

2)      7th Int. Workshop on Compilers for Parallel Computers CPC'98,
        Link{\"o}ping, Sweden, June 29 - July 1, 1998.

Since I don't know how much reviewing will go on, I'll send the postscript
file together with all the LaTeX source files. I`ll attach (uuencoded) a
gzipped tar file that will expand to the following files:

        static/static.ps
        static/call1.ps
        static/call2.ps
        static/class1.ps
        static/class2.ps
        static/fig1.ps
        static/fig2.ps
        static/split1.ps
        static/static.tex
        static/thread1.ps
        static/thread2.ps

The first file on the list is the paper (8 pages).
