Foil 5 Parallel CMS: Approach

1 Performance critical CMS computation: compare vehicle PDU and mine location in a loop over all mines
2 Parallelize using Origin2000 C++ compiler pragmas such as pfor to decompose this loop over processors
3 Two approaches being explored:
  • simpler: decompose only the topmost loop over minefields
  • optimal: linearize the nested linked lists of minefields / components / mines and decompose the resulting mine array
