  • 2 Working Groups: Numerics and Concurrency/Applications chaired by Boisvert/Pozo and Gannon/Caromel respectively
  • Forum supported by Sun with contact Siamak Hassanzadeh
  • Forum coordinated by Geoffrey Fox, George Thiruvathukal
We produced as a result of last meeting
  • General Description of Forum; detailed reports from 2 WG's
  • Started Community activities -- Numerics classes, Benchmark collection
  • Started interaction with Sun -- reply to Gosling's proposals
  • Started interaction with "Grande community"
  • SC98 agreement to 3 hour session
  • Discussed but did not implement federal contacts (funding)

Decide on "process" to interact with Sun/JavaSoft and Grande user and development community
