Kivanc Dincer has my extremely strong recommendation for a faculty position. I 
have guided his research for over 4 years and his work has always been that of the very 
best students. I base this evaluation on my experiences both at Syracuse and in my 
previous career at Caltech.
Kivanc's excellent thesis combines several important areas -- compiler (runtime) 
technology, education and Web systems. This leads to his Web-based "virtual 
programming laboratory" (VPL) which has been successfully used in my class and by the 
Cornell national Supercomputer Center. I believe that Kivanc's innovative system will be 
copied internationally for the many similar needs for interoperable user interfaces to 
parallel machines.
Kivanc is a very serious careful student and these traits combined with his 
exceptional native ability make me certain that he will be a very successful faculty 
member at any University.
