CSIT Mission
To develop systematically interdisciplinary curricula in computational science and information technology incorporating the latest research techniques and results, and to enhance the high-performance computing contents of courses in various departments.
To perform basic research in the core areas of applied computer science, applied mathematical and numerical modeling, and areas of overlap of these with different disciplines, and to provide the focal point for collaborative research across departments and disciplines.
To develop and foster an interdisciplinary research atmosphere and a culture for large-scale high performance computing, in which research scientists from the sectors of national laboratories, industries and academia come together and provide cross-fertilization of ideas and approaches from diverse disciplines; thereby, advancing our fundamental understanding of computational, information science & technology.
To acquire and maintain the state-of-the-art computing and visualization hardware which adequately supports the ambitious research and education agenda, and to research and develop software for efficient use of the hardware.
To adopt a proactive outreach and technology transfer policy.
