Foil 11 Analysis of Richardson's Method for Laplace or Poisson Equation

From Spatial Differencing and ADI Solution of the NAS Benchmarks CPSP713 Case studies in Computational Science -- Spring Semester 1996. by Geoffrey C. Fox

This is identical upto scale factor with that of relaxation for Jacobi method and one finds the plot of eigenvalues of iteration matrix
G= 1 + wfaketimeK as below
The optimal choice of wfaketime is 0.25 for a normalization where diagonal terms of K for Laplace equation is -4. This is identical to w=1 being optimal for relaxation analysis of Jacobi Over Relaxation.
