High Performance Computer Software Specialists The School for Computational Science and Information Technology (CSIT) at Florida State University has immediate openings for staff to support new parallel computing systems to be installed in the next few months. These will evolve over the next two years to massively parallel machines with peak performance of over two teraflops. This facility will support leading edge simulations from a variety of application areas where CSIT will be leading new campus research and educational initiatives. We anticipate that a variety of architectures will be present in the facility and it will support both application and computer science research. Several positions are available for individuals with a masters or Ph.D. in a computationally relevant field. Experience in using either large-scale parallel machines or state of the art information systems is required. Understanding of technologies such as MPI, Linux, Fortran, C++, Java and/or XML will be important. The successful applicants will work with application and/or computer science research groups to maximize the effective use of the facility and support CSIT’s research and education mission. Typical tasks will be developing efficient parallel versions of scientific simulations or customizing a computational science portal for new application areas. Please send your resume electronically to Geoffrey Fox, Director of the Computational and Information Science Laboratory at fox@csit.fsu.edu. Florida State University is located in Tallahassee Florida and is an equal opportunity employer.
