Thank you very much for being willing to speak to me. I am at a conference in Washington DC (Ironically I am giving keynote speech on topics related to patent) but I will try to be available at 11 am. My cell phones are 3152546387, 3154394844 My first question is as in my January 19 email to you Am I allowed to sign the document if I know the material to be inaccurate? Carter Strickland and two others I have consulted say I cannot. So if this is correct advice, the only question is am I misguided in saying that there are missing authors? Here I can only go by a couple of criteria a) As Director of NPAC and agreed lead inventor, I certainly know who influenced me and maybe I know more than this (I should if I am competent) b) I can look at lead authors of scientific papers published by NPAC and memos related to patent http://www.npac.syr.edu/users/gcf/internetics2/ http://www.npac.syr.edu/projects/training/Papers/sc98/ http://www.npac.syr.edu/Projects/DoD/white-paper-collab-train-990510.html This lead me to conclude that Bernholdt, Markowski and McCracken should be added as they were key to effort that created the methodology behind invention. Marek mentions two software engineers (Beca, Major) and I am sure they wrote important code. In this regard, the two NPAC employees who influenced me the most were Deepak Ramachandran (who worked with me on DHTML technology) and Gang Cheng who was in original disclosure and with whom I produced first Tango linked WebWisdom software Academia tends to look down on Software writing and so I wouldn't naturally include latter individuals in core scientific papers. However I respect Software ...... I believe I cannot say these are only inventors. Obviously I can be much more certain as to who clearly contributed than vice-versa. However I could honestly tell the patent office that at time of signing these were inventors that I was aware of. So far I have asked advice about missing authors. Am I allowed to sign if claims are incomplete? This is sometghing I need legal advice on as it seems to me a little different from inventors issue. I hope this email allows to have an efficient phone call. Now I need to pack my bag and write my talk for tomorrow. I thank you again for kindly agreeing to discuss these points. Geoffrey Fox
