In PSE discussion, I found the following paragraph confusing: Along with establishing a well-defined vision, the PSE Team might consider redefining responsibilities for the PSE program. As presented to the Review Panel, one-third of the available PSE funding is being spent on tools. We believe that this investment may not benefit software development users as much as might be the case if more funding was targeted toward performance and tuning tools. It reads as though it is trying to convey a hidden message but this message is not clear to me. I think we believe PSE is funding things which are not directly benefiting ASCI. If so we should say this more directly In Discom**2, I think we should explicitly commend them for a) Incorporating Kerberos into the GRid. Having spent a year doing this my self for DoD, I know this is hard! b) Developing a "Computational Grid User Environment" with a good architecture (XML based) and good functionality.
