Commercial systems:
  • large bandwidth required (in Mbps)
  • expensive hardware needed (cameras, hardware codecs and so on)
  • proprietary solutions deployed (compression)
Systems for Internet:
  • less bandwidth required, accessible to everyone
  • data losses cause rather poor quality of service
  • not very reliable
