2 Synchronous collaboration tools (such as TangoInteractive) allow participants (students, teachers) to sample and discuss interactively the SAME asynchronous resource used for self based learning -- either as augmentation to lectures or for full asynchronous learning
  • Chat, White Board, Digital Audio Video
  • shared web pages for conventional instruction
  • shared (physics) simulation applets
  • "raise hands applet" to alert teacher
