1 JavaScript syntax resembles Java and C
2 Braces { } are used for grouping
3 Use single or double quotes (they are equivalent) around strings
4 Literals: null, true, and false
5 JavaScript is case-sensitive while HTML is not (which sometimes leads to problems!)
