B channels can be bundled as described below:
  • ISDN-B - 64 Kbps ( 1xB channel)
  • ISDN-D - B+D
  • ISDN-H (H0) - 384 Kbps ( 6xB channels)
  • ISDN-H11 - 1.536 Mbps (24xB channels)
  • ISDN-H12 - 1.92 Mbps (30xB channels)
Broadband ISDN (B-ISDN) - emerging standard
  • operates over fiber with rates 150 - 600 Mbps
  • standard created for videoconferencing, video on demand and based on SONET Synchronous Optical Network (physical transport backbone)
  • ATM Asynchronous Transfer Mode (switching service)
