Foil 21 TANGO for Distributed Simulation and Testing/Evaluation

From Tango in Training and Collaborative Simulation and Planning Technical Program: ITEA HPCC Conference Aberdeen Md. -- July 14 98. by Geoffrey C. Fox, Marek Podgorny

Clearly Java Collaboration Systems are natural implementations of general environments that mix computers and people
Shared Simulations -- a simulation is typical "server-side application" in a Tango session which has
  • simulation engines or hardware in the loop
  • visualization subsystem
  • one of more computational scientists
Distributed Modeling and Simulation / Testing and Evaluation with "humans and computers in the loop" has this type of architecture?
NCSA and NPAC have developed prototype collaborative visualization systems using Tango (2D and 3D images can be shared by participants with viewpoint and choice of rendering replicated)
