3 - Configured outside the OS Kernel.- Interacts with the OS.- Used to manage user applications.
4 2) Distributed Programming Environment
5 - Configured within kernel or as a dynamic kernel-module.- low-level interface necessary to get performance.- Typically used to support environments such as VSM.
