  • wiring (inter- and intra-building); protocols: IP, AppleTalk
  • addresses: class B, masks, addressing schemas
  • technologies: ATM, FDDI, Ethernet, FE, T1, ISDN, wireless
  • load: for example ~7000 pps or 13 Mbps
  • applications: mail,print, file, web, ftp, oracle, news servers
