Lipson" To: Geoffrey Fox CC: edlipson@syr.edu I return late this afternoon and am in Syracuse MTW. I leave Thursday morning for Canada -- and will have very limited online or work time thru the weekend. I agree with Rose (and previous comments [by myself and] Gregg) that the proposal--even more, so far, than the preproposal--is very technical. There should remain some technical sections suitably labeled, but the main path should be user friendly for nontechies--perhaps by "telling a story" [in the future]. I once saw a nice futuristic story that you wrote (few years ago -- online). I wonder if you could adopt some of that powerful style here -- i.e. assume our cdakn exists and then say what life would be like for the inclusive distributed community taking advantage of the cdadom and cdakn. The proposal could start and end with this theme and have some techie sections in the middle that readers could choose to skim.
