Under the new PET program, we have very little web support and must rely on the integrators or MSRC personel for assistance in maintaining our web pages. This need is especially important in training where we have to maintain our own training schedule and online registration capabilities. For example, course registration, that used to be handled by our user services group, is now taking a considerable amount of my time. Of course, I don't expect anyone else to conduct registration, but if the OKC could include some automated features so I did not have to personally reply to each email, that would be a big help. We have already offered several training courses under the new PET and I fear some useful information and statistics on training will be lost because we do not have a central repository for registration, course material, and evaluation. There is a lot of other information dealing with the new PET program that is now being scattered around at various sites (summer intern material at OSC, MOS team information at Texas), and all of this should be centralized on the OKC. Please don't take this as a criticism. I am just making a pitch for some of my own priorities - or you can consider it a plea for help from someone down in the trenches. Marlon,

Thought I would send a note on what I see as some of the critical
needs in the OKC.  Under the new PET program, we have very
little web support and must rely on the integrators or MSRC personel
for assistance in maintaining our web pages.  This need is
especially important in training where we have to maintain our
own training schedule and online registration capabilities.
For example, course registration, that used to be handled by our
user services group, is now taking a considerable amount of my time.
Of course, I don't expect anyone else to conduct registration, but
if the OKC could include some automated features so I did not have
to personally reply to each email, that would be a big help.
We have already offered several training courses under the new
PET and I fear some useful information and statistics on
training will be lost because we do not have a central repository
for registration, course material, and evaluation.

There is a lot of other information dealing with the new PET program
that is now being scattered around at various sites (summer intern
material at OSC, MOS team information at Texas), and all of this
should be centralized on the OKC.

Please don't take this as a criticism.  I am just making a pitch
for some of my own priorities - or you can consider it a plea
for help from someone down in the trenches.

Wayne
