Geoffrey,

I hope everything is going well.

As you may know I'd planned from the beginning to go back to = academia once=20 Avaki (my startup) was running under its own steam. It has reached that = point,=20 and I am going back to academia this fall. That said it seemed to be a = good time=20 for me to look around and see what my other options were besides = Virginia.=20

It turns out that Texas has an exciting new program in Grid = Computing (with=20 an endowed chair, lots of space. etc.) that I am considering. We've gone = through=20 the preliminaries, and they are looking for references.

I'd like to know if you would consider and are comfortable being a=20 reference for me?

As to my relationship with Avaki, I will remain chairman of the = board, but=20 change title to "Chief Scientist" rather than CTO and will be taking a = much less=20 active (and less traveling) role. We will be issuing a press release on = this in=20 a month or two. In the mean time please don't mention it to = anybody.

Andrew
