To OTC Journal Members:

In The News Today

Fascinating commentary from Federal Reserve Chairman Allan Greespan in his semi annual Humphrey Hawkins testimony.

He alluded to what he described as the "New Economy" a number of times.  In essence his view is that our old standards for gauging the economy no longer apply.  Individual productivity is much higher than in the past due to technology breakthroughs.  He stated that he continues to be amazed at the technological breakthroughs coming out of US companies.

He also spoke about the debate on Wall Street as to whether these technologies will eventually become productive enough to justify the valuations being enjoyed by technology companies.  Only time will tell.  It will be interesting to look back at this 10 year bull market twenty years from now.
