This means we need to get the necessary material written and in to me promptly. The format will be the same as before, but I am going to try to focus the writing assignments to you a little better so that you don't go to unnecessary work and that you can respond quickly. These assignments are directed at the university leads and the leads for the CTAs, Tools, SciViz, and Collab/Comm, as indicated, but everyone should be aware of this and contribute as needed. Note that I have reduced the number of tables and have combined some sections, in order to shorten your writing load and not ask you to do stuff twice. And I have interspersed the tables here with the sections to clarify the connections. Tables will actually be together at the end in the report. "CTA Leads" below includes Tools, SciViz, and Collab/Comm Leads. This is for Year 5, ending March 2001, and does not include the current extension. Please try to get this information to me by April 20, certainly by April 27. ============================================================================== Sections 1 & 2 (Thompson) ------------------------- Section 3 - Technical Support Teams (CTA Leads) ----------------------------------------------- Give a concise verbal description of your entire team. Include all professionals who have been involved in Year 5, but not students, noting what function each provided. Note this is not the place to cover accomplishments, just the team composition. Table 1 - Technical Support Team Personnel (CTA Leads & MSI Leads) ------------------------------------------------------------------ List the name of every person - including students - who was funded by PET in Year 5. Give the degree and title of each person. Give the % time for each, figured on an annual basis, which was covered by PET funds. Give the number of days spent on-site at ERDC MSRC. Table 2 - Team Travel (CTA Leads & MSI Leads) --------------------------------------------- For each trip, list the destination, the team members making the trip (last name only), the duration, and the purpose. Note this is one line @ trip, not one @ person. Section 4 - Year 5 Accomplishments (CTA Leads) ---------------------------------------------- Give a short verbal description of every project - both Core and Focused Efforts - undertaken in Year 5. Be sure to include what was done, what were the results, and how the effort impacted MSRC users. Include user names when appropriate. Make each project a sub-section here, with a title, containing a few paragraphs. Be definitive, but not to the detail you've done in the TRs. Table 3 - User Contacts (CTA Leads) ----------------------------------- List the name of each user who was contacted at least at the discussion level. Do not include incidental contacts that did not involve some meaningful discussion. Give the user's location, e.g. ERDC CHL. Give the CTA. Give the team members involved. Give the mode of contact, e.g. visit, email. Give the purpose of the contact. Combine repeated contacts with the same user and the same purpose into one entry. Section 5 - Tools Introduced into ERDC MSRC (CTA Leads) ------------------------------------------------------- Give a brief verbal description of each tool introduced into ERDC MSRC in Year 5. Be sure to note the purpose of the tool and its source, and what PET did to it. Also include both the actual and potential impact on users, separating the two as such. Do not include work on user codes here - that comes next. Put this in the form of sub-sections with the tool name as the title and one or two paragraphs of description. Section 6 - User Support & Impact on User Codes (CTA Leads) ----------------------------------------------------------- Give a brief verbal description of PET work on user codes and user support with applications. Include the names of users involved in collaborative effort here. Describe what PET did on the code, or for the user, and what was the impact. Also be sure to note what the code/application does and how it is used in DoD. This should include user support in applications as well as actual changes in codes. Be sure to include CHSSI support, noted as such. Note joint publications with users. Put this in the form of sub-sections with the code (or application) name as the title and one or two paragraphs of description. Section 7 - User Training (Mastin) ---------------------------------- Describe briefly the mode of operation of ERDC MSRC PET traning. Describe any special training accomplishments or other training items of special note. Leave the actual course list to Table Table 4 - Training Courses (Mastin) ----------------------------------- Use the same form as the Year 4 Annual Report, listing each traning course. Section 8 - MSI Enhancement (MSI Leads) --------------------------------------- Describe briefly the PET efforts with MSIs that are not covered in the CTA sections above. But do note special accomplishments of MSIs in the CTA areas here, leaving the more complete description to be included in the CTA sections. Include the names of all MSI faculty and researchers involved in any capacity in Year 5 of PET. Also include the names of student interns and what they did. Note conferences/workshops related to MSIs. Also note publications. Table 5 - (Mastin, MSI Leads) ----------------------------- List all training courses/workshops/conferences/seminars and regular semester courses conducted by PET at MSIs. Give the location(s), duration, the providing institution, the instructor(s), the format, and the number of attendees. Use the same form as last year. Table 6 - (MSI Leads) --------------------- List the names of each MSI student participating in PET in any way, including attending stuff in Table 8 above. Give the level, major, MSI, and what the participation was. ERDC MSRC PET Technical Reports (Mastin) ---------------------------------------- List all the Year 5 TRs, in same format as last year. Journal Papers, Presentations, Reports (CTA Leads, MSI Leads) ------------------------------------------------------------- List every publication (except PET TRs, listed above) that came from any PET support. Use this form: Authors(last name first), "title", journal/meeting/etc, location (mtgs only), volume/number/page (journals only), date. Separate into these categories: Books Book Chapters Journal Publications Proceedings Presentations Reports Note Users Group Meeting presentations are "Presentations". Presentations that are published in bound proceedings go under "Proceedings" and should not be repeated under "Presentations".
