Merle walked around the castle. Now where is that girl? She thought. Ahh, I know. She proceeded to dash around the halls of the palace. And skidded to a stop in front of Hitomi’s (and usually Van’s) room.

After a few bangs, Hitomi came to the door. “Yes?” she asked.

“What are Lord Van’s favorite colours?” Merle said.

Hitomi smiled wickedly, “Pastel anything, but preferably pink and purple. Isn’t that right Van?” A grumble was heard from the bunched covers of the bed.

Merle thanked her and left; she now knew what colours the cook would put on Van’s birthday cake.
