1-For sony laptop: disable the local area connection before or after plugging in the wireless pcmci(ORINOCO) card.(there are more than one local area connection. First one should be disabled(the one without any number)). Then, restart the computer. 2.For dell computer, just plug in the wireless pcmci(ORINOCO) card. there is no need to restart. 3.SMC wireless access point should be turned on. (SMC EZ connect Wireless AP. SMC2652W) 4.everything should work fine after those. you can test the connection by pinging the 144.174.143.157 SMC AP 144.174.137.154 rainforest.csit.fsu.edu 144.174.137.164 juniper.csit.fsu.edu 5. there are two different versions for anabas playback. one is for playing back audio and data. the other one is only for data. these are under the following directories in both computers: D:\anabas_playback ---->data and audio d:\anabas_without_audio_playback ---->data only in the data only mode, two computers are connected in peer to peer mode using hearme clients. so you can have real time voice conversations between these two computers. you will get an error message from the first client you run. this is because, it will try to connect to the other hearme client, which is not activated yet. This is not harmfull because when you run the second client it will connect to the first one. So voice connection will be established. 6. We assumed that SONIC JMS server will run on the dell computer. So, we set the configuration files according to that. you need to set GMS.host parameter in the VC.config fle.
