I think the breakdown is $35K per student for one year, with others "free" or billed to on-site/core support. Breakdown: a) One student to upgrade Gateway to use EJB, implement Gateway grid services, implement backend event model. b) One student to integrate GXOS-style xml objects (with castor), implement web services-style middleware (with SOAP, UDDI, etc.) The two projects can potentially be decoupled. If I only had one, I'd prefer b). CSM 011: Collaborative Gateway-ICE Integrated PSE, $100K Comments: The team members are 3 IU graduate students plus various others (Stephen Wilkerson, Jerry Clarke, myself) who will not be paid from funds. The funds will support the three students for one year. The project has three parts: collaboration, Gateway workflow development, and ICE coupling for remote visualization. Suggested breakdown: a) Two students for collaborative portal (Jabber, Anabus, Hearme) b) One student for workflow and remote vis Government options are either a)+b) or b) only. The project would not make sense with a) only. CSM 012: Gateway PSE Support, $60K Comments: We asked for only one IU student, plus listed several other team members (IPCRES web designer and software engineer). We also discussed the installation of help desk and related software to support early users. Possibly the breakdown would be One IU grad student: $33-35K ?% of IPCRES Tech Staff: ?K ?% of ET On-site (me): ?K Software Purchases: $5K Marlon Geoffrey Fox wrote: > > Without looking further I am not certain which proposals these are > I do have the Spread sheet though > > Geoffrey Fox gcf@indiana.edu FAX 8128567972 > Phones Cell 315-254-6387 Home 8123239196 Lab 8128567977 CS 8128553788 > > ------- Forwarded Message > > Date: Mon, 10 Sep 2001 15:21:15 -0500 > From: Joe Thompson > To: gcf@indiana.edu > cc: rhp@osc.edu, joe@ERC.MsState.Edu > Subject: CSM 011, CSM 012, ET 016 > > Geoffrey, > > The govt has asked for a budget breakdown on three more of your proposals: > > CSM 011, CSM 012, ET 016 > > They also want more explanation of how the funds are to be spent on CSM 011 > and CSM 012. > > This is the same kind of response that you sent in to Dick last week for your > proposals that are to be funded.
