database systems and a technology leader in commercial parallel
database systems.

Oracle Corporation holds one of the anchor stores in the InfoMall. Oracle
provides InfoMall with access to the parallel database technology via
beta site software licensing agreements. Oracle technology has
particular appeal since it traditionally runs on multiple platforms,
recently including a number of MPP computers.

InfoMall Activities with Oracle Corporation:</h3>

<ul>
<li> InfoMall carried out an extensive beta site project for the nCUBE2 
version of the Oracle Parallel Server. InfoMall has installed, tested,
evaluated, and benchmarked all available releases of the Oracle Parallel
Server for nCUBE from version 6.2 until production version 7.1.3.0.4.
<li> Currently, InfoMall is a beta site for the Oracle Text Server
product. The product, implemented by Oracle UK, enables parallel, high
performance access to full text databases and extended search,
retrieval, and text analysis capabilities. The product is being used to
implement parallel full text repository for the ERIC project.
<li>InfoMall is also a beta site for the Oracle Parallel Server on the
IBM SP2 platform. 
<li> InfoMall entered the Oracle Challenge, a competition for developers
of the educational software. Oracle promotes use of the Oracle Media
Object, an authoring systems, for writing educational applications.
Oracle Media Object software is being currently beta-tested in InfoMall 
on the Apple platforms.
