Title: Computational Science and Information Technology: Curriculum and Technology Organization: Florida State University Lead: Geoffrey Fox Objective: Working in the context of the new curriculum for Computational Science and Technology being developed at Florida State University, this project will adapt selected CSIT courses for distance presentation using a combination of synchronous and asynchronous interactions to DoD scientists and engineers. Accomplishments: We have finished the specification of the curriculum. We are working on some Intellectual Property issues with Syracuse University re course material developed there. We are working with Nancy McCracken on getting this older material in a clean form so we can re-use in FSU. Plans: We are offering "Information technology I" fall 00 and "Information technology II" spring 01. Problems: IP issues between Syracuse and Florida State may take some time to resolve. Presently we do not expect this project to be effected, but we will inform ERDC of any change.
