To update monthly archives... 
(This really *should* be automated.  Sigh...)

Create a new subdirectory, eg,

  mkdir nov99

and add it to CVS.  Send command

  get java-mpi java-mpi.9911

to Majordomo@@npac.syr.edu.  Save the returned archive in

  nov99/nov99

Edit this file to delete the covering message from Majordomo, then
globally change all the ">From" strings at the start of messages back
to "From".

Copy a Makefile from, eg, `may99/Makefile', and edit it to refer to
`nov99'.

Add `nov99' and `Makefile' to CVS.

Edit the toplevel `Makefile' to recursively invoke the new make file.

Add the lines:

  <li>
  <a href="nov99/maillist.html">Nov 1999</a>

to `index.html'.
