• Yehuda Ben-Zion at Department of Earth Sciences USC studies the Physics of earthquakes and faults
• Jacobo Bielak at the CMU Civil Engineering Dept is part of the The Quake Project
• Bill Bosl from the Center for Applied Scientific Computing at Lawrence Livermore Laboratory is leading The Parflow Project which models 3D chemical transport and subsurface fluid flow on HPCC machines.
• Geoffrey Fox at NPAC, Syracuse University does Computational Science
• Peter Mora is director of the QUAKES project at Queensland University, Australia which conducts coupled computational and observational research aimed at resolving key questions in seismology.
• David O'Hallaron at the CMU Computer Science department is part of the The Quake Project
• John Reynders leads the POOMA project of the Advanced Computing Laboratory at Los Alamos National Lab. POOMA (Parallel Object-Oriented Methods and Applications) is a programming framework for scientific computing applications on parallel computers.
