1 Bandwidth - The communications capacity (measured in bits per
2 second) of a transmission line or of a specific path through the
3 network.
4 Clustered Computing - An environment consisting of many
5 workstations connected together by a local area network and can
6 be generalised to a heterogeneous collection of machines with
7 arbitrary architecture and interconnect.
8 High-Performance Distributed Computing (HPDC) - The use of
9 distributed networked computers to achieve high performance on a
10 single problem, i.e., the computers are co-ordinated and
11 synchronised to achieve a common goal.
