Foil 95 Features of SET - II

From Remarks on Internet and Java Security Basic Information Track Computational Science Course CPS616 -- Spring Semester 1999. by Geoffrey Fox, Mehmet Sen

1 Merchant Authentication: This assures customer that merchant is legitimate and has the necessary relationship with a financial organization so that they can safely shop with merchant
  • Digital signatures and merchant certificates implement this
2 Interoperability: This means SET must not choose any one hardware or software platform and be implementable for world wide commerce
  • SET uses well defined protocols and formats compliant with best cryptographic practice. It can be implemented by any platform (as technical manual is 700 pages long, it is a non trivial investment to implement it!)
