Foil 106 Component Configuration - I

From Object Web Computing Technologies CPS714 Computational Science Information Track -- June 16 99. by H. Timucin Ozdemir

1 A lifecycle of a component starts with the configuration phase and after the completion of this phase the component can be operational. To distinguish the phase transition configuration_complete() method is defined so that the agent can figure out whether the component is ready to serve or not as a result of this call on the component.
2 The configuration process uses attributes defined with attribute keyword in CIDL.
3 Configurator interface is defined for executing a set of attribute update operations on the target component.
4 configure() method executes the set of operations on the given target component.
