I will be moving to Florida State University shortly ....
I will be in Computer Science department but also part of FSU's new
School of Computational Science and Information Technology (CSIT) which
I find a pretty innovative concept. They have 30 faculty lines to
fill in next few years. I will also lead research
programs in distance education which will work with their quite
impressive University wide "deployment" activities in this area.
I will also develop core educational curriculum in CSIT based partly
on the courses we have started at Syracuse in the "Internetics" area.
The large emphasis on computational science will help motivate and
test my efforts in HPCC technologies.
I think I will be more succesful at FSU because there will be
much greater synergy than at Syracuse between my skills and the University goals.
