1 Windows NT server can be setup as router: two or more network interfaces (different topologies : Ethernet, token ring)
2 Multihomed NT router
3 Software :
  • MPR - Multi-Protocol Routing;
  • RRAS - Routing and Remote Access Server
4 MPR and RRAS are necessary for dynamic routing
5 When you install two NICs in a server, enable routing, but do not install MPR and RRAS, NT will work as a static router. Routing table must be built manually:
  • route add [destination] [mask] [gateway] [METRIC metric]
