- A series of Bernoulli Trials is the generalized coin tossing
problem.
- We have a sequence of independent ``trials''---each of which has
only two outcomes:
- Success or ``heads'': probability p
- Failure or ``tails'': probability q
where, of course p+q=1.
- Afficiando's of affirmative action and
women's lib will note that generations of math books have downgraded
tails compared to heads.
- Anyhow, we follow in their footsteps and set
as the probability of k successes in n trials.
